Abalone aquaculture in Taiwan finds its roots in breeding ponds formally found across northeastern Taiwan. We are in the process of transforming some of the now abandoned abalone breeding pond into coral nurseries. Our first step was to visit the agencies tasked with coral restoration to understand the environmental challenges facing coral reef and the possible method to address these challenges, before creating a solution that involved recycling the trash and debris at the heart of the problem.
