Flood damage due to heavy rain occurs during the heavy rain season. To prevent the stink caused by the waste thrown away in the drainage, people take action by covering it with illegal coverings. Usually, cigarette butts and trash are thrown away in the drainage cover, and it acts as a cover to prevent stink coming up in the drainage. In the event of a flood, the drainage cover rises to the surface of the water due to buoyancy and prevents waste flowing in by rainwater. The inspiration for the came from observing frequent flooding issues in urban areas around the world, including Gangnam in South Korea and Midvale in the United States. During flooding, it rises due to buoyancy, maintaining efficient drainage and blocking secondary debris inflow. It also addresses trash issues in the drain, such as cigarette butts, and eliminates odors. It is easy to install and remove, making it versatile and easy to manage in various situations.
