This film is set in a fictional military dependents’ village in Taiwan during the 1950s and 60s, depicting the protagonist’s final return home. Interweaving reality with his memories, it reveals his guilt and withdrawal after distancing from his family. With his parents gone and the village facing closure, his once-thriving hometown falls into decay, succumbing to time. The protagonist must face both the loss of his family and the farewell to his vanishing hometown.
