National Taiwan University of Arts

National Taiwan University of Arts (NTUA), founded in 1955 as the National School of Art, upholds the philosophy that art is the best media of the human mind, and are committed to our motto of excellence. Based on our diverse but compatible perspectives on art theory and creation, we cultivate artists and artisans who seek truth, quality and aesthetics, and who pursue artistic excellence, unparalleled creativity, international perspective and moral distinction. The current enrollment is more than 5,000, and our teaching staff comprises more than 180 full-time teachers and more than 700 part-time teachers. The College of Design of NTUA, established in 2001, consists of three departments, Multimedia and Animation Arts, Visual Communication, and Craft Arts. It is the only one among universities of arts in Taiwan combining the practice-model and the research-model features with a complete educational system for arts and design. Keeping the concept of “humanity-centeredness for the base, humanities for the body of concept, and creativity for the application of expressions,” we aim to educate our students to become professional designers who possess humanity, sense, and sensibility.
