Malaysian Institute of Art

Established in 1967 by a group of enthusiastic art teachers, Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) is a non-profit organization aimed at providing affordable, quality education to independent Chinese school students to pursue their studies at a tertiary level upon completing high school. The Institute has gradually achieved significant milestones and has expanded to being a forefront in providing quality tertiary education with the support from the Chinese business community. Today, MIA has built a legacy of more than 54 years in the field of art, design and music by producing thousands of graduates who have materialized their artistic talents and become successful in their chosen careers. With the aim to help more talented youths, MIA provides financial assistance to students through various scholarships and financial aid namely The Nationwide Art & Design Scholarship, United Chinese School Committee Association of Malaysia Scholarship, Sin Chew Daily Education Fund, Nan Yang Education Fund, MIA Academic Achievement Scholarship, The Star Education Fund Scholarship, Endowment Bursary Fund, Can-I Academic Excellence Scholarship Fund and Muda Holdings Berhad Creative Excellence Scholarship.
