Cumulus is the only global association to serve art and design education and research. It is a forum for partnership and transfer of knowledge and best practices. Cumulus consists currently of 286 members from 57 countries. Founded in 1990 and Operating as an association since 2001. There are 286 members from 57 countries in 2018. The University of Art and Design in Helsinki Finland (UIAH), today as Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, and Royal College of Art in London UK, in co-operation with Danmarks Designskole, Gerrit Rietvelt Academy, Universität Gesamthochschule Essen and Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst in Wien initiated Cumulus as a network in 1990. Cumulus offers wide international context for discussion and development in education and research of art, design and media.

In December 2019, when Ms. Mariana Amatullo, President of Cumulus, flew to Taiwan to present Cumulus Special Award to the winning student at TISDC’s Award Ceremony, President Mariana Amatullo signed the MoU with Prof. Apex Lin, Project Director of Taiwan International Student Design Competition, for the great job enabling us to continue together passionately for the success of the Talent of the Youth on this Planet. TISDC and Asia University look forward to future collaborations with Cumulus.
