A Look into 2024 Taiwan International Student Design Competition’s Promotional Campaign – National Taichung University of Education – March 4th

Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) 2024 campus promotion kicked off at the National Taichung University of Education!

The promotional for this year arrived at the university on March 4, 2024 (Monday). The event featured an inspiring speech titled “Achieving Prosperity through Design” by Shih-Hsuan Chiu, founder of the 2021 Environmental Sustainability Award and the 2022 Gold Prize in Product Design in TISDC. It was an honor to be invited by the National Taichung University of Education, and the event was joined by 68 faculty and students, along with the project manager of the Design-International Design Competition (IDC).

Founder Chiu began with the significance of design, illustrating how a product evolves to address the challenges users face and emphasizing the role of design in enhancing convenience and advancing both technology and society. Additionally, he shared his own experiences participating in competitions and winning awards, encouraging students to actively participate and seize opportunities to develop their skills, especially in meeting deadlines. He likened competition to playing video games, where repeated attempts and challenges lead to growth regardless of the outcome.

Finally, heartfelt gratitude was expressed to the Department of Digital Content and Technology and the Department of Creative Design and Management of the National Taichung University of Education for the invitation. Special thanks were extended to Professor Wu, Shi-Yen, and Professor Chuang, Yu-Cheng, for their assistance and arrangements, as well as to the enthusiastic participation of the students, which contributed to the smooth and successful execution of the event!
