A Look into 2020 Taiwan International Student Design Competition’s Promotional Campaign – Cheng Shiu University, April 27th

The fourteenth stop of 2020 Taiwan International Student Design Competition’s (2020TISDC) promotional campaign is Cheng Shiu University. Thanks to the invitation from Cheng Shiu University’s Department of Modern Living and Creative Design, 2020TISDC could have the opportunity to promote this year’s competition with design students. Around 130 students and professors joined the event actively.

Professor Jun-Hong Chen, associate project director of 2020TISDC, took this chance to share the achievements that TISDC has reached so far and the winning entries of 2019TISDC with the attendees. The students showed great interest in learning from the brilliant works and got inspired. Professor Chen also focused on the theme of 2020TISDC, “Action,” sharing some tips and directions to come out with designs with maturity. “Action” is related to United Nation’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Putting in mind that preparation and quick actions are needed, students are encouraged to find solution to the global sustainability problem as responsible worldwide citizens. Hope that when students are doing their design, they could look into these urgent issues that we people are facing every day and use their design thinkng and design skills to make the world a better place.

Once again, TISDC would like to thank Prof. Shou-Che Wu and lecturer Pin-Chia Huang for helping arranging this event. Special thanks were given to associate professor Hsiao-Meng Su, assistant professor Yu-Ching Lin, and lecturer Ying-Chun Lin for joing the event together and encouraging students to participate in 2020TISDC. TISDC looks forward to the outstanding works from Cheng Shiu University.
