A Look into 2019 Taiwan International Student Design Competition’s Promotional Campaign – Raffles College of Higher Education Kuala Lumpur & First City University College, April 9th

Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC), a remarkable international competition in Taiwan design education, is in its twelfth year. Led by the associate project directors of TISDC, Prof. Ming-Lung Yu, Prof. Shi-Fu Lee and Lecturer Miira Lin, the executive team of TISDC visited Malaysia on 9^th April and promoted TISDC at Raffles College of Higher Education Kuala Lumpur and First City University College. In total, around 130 teachers and students joined the promotional events together.

Targeting on the theme, “Empathy,” of this year’s competition, the associate project director of TISDC, Lecturer Miira Lin, not only introduced the history of TISDC to the attendees but also shared some of the winning works with everyone, hoping to inspire the students who are interested in joining the competition and creating some sparkles in diverse cultures and design. Prof. Lee and Prof. Yu encouraged students to accumulate their design energy, view things and difficulties from distinct perspectives, and try their best to stand in others’ shoes when solving problems and doing design.

Special thanks to Lecturer Szu Pei Woon of Raffles College of Higher Education Kuala Lumpur and Prof. Siew Siew Gan of First City University College for helping TISDC arrange the promotional events and invite all the teachers and students to join together. With their assistance and support, the promotional events had rounded off. We hope design schools in Malaysia could keep paying attention to and actively participate in TISDC. We look forward to all the works!
