A Look into 2019 Taiwan International Student Design Competition’s Promotional Campaign – Nanyang Polytechnic & Singapore University of Technology and Design, April 12th

Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC), a remarkable international design competition, is in its twelfth year. On 12^th April, 2019, the executive team of Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) was led by the associate project directors, Prof. Ming-Lung Yu, Prof. Shi-Fu Lee and Lecturer Miira Lin, to promote this year’s competition at Nanyang Polytechnic and Singapore University of Technology and Design. Around 130 teachers and students joined the promotional events together.

Targeting at the theme of this year’s competition, “Empathy,” a concept rooted in affective commitment, the associate project director of TISDC, Lecturer Miira Lin, encouraged students to observe and think from different perspectives and most importantly try to stand in others’ shoes when facing and solving problems. Lecturer Lin also shared some of the winning works that TISDC received before with the attendees, hoping to encourage cultural exchanges. Prof. Lee and Prof. Yu also encouraged students to actively participate in international design competitions, which is a good way to sharpen young designers’ design skills and broaden their horizons.  

Special thanks to Prof. Khee Soon Tan of Nanyang Polytechnic and Prof. Lorraine Teo of Singapore University of Technology and Design for helping TISDC arrange the promotional events and invite all the teachers and students to join together. We look forward to their students’ active participation in TISDC with their excellent works.
