On May 26th 2021, Ms. Yu-Chin Chang, manager of the EPEA Taiwan, was invited to give a lecture at the 2021 International Design Masters Lecture Series – Campus Lecture: Circular Economy VI on “Cradle to Cradle: Creating a circular economy with innovation, high quality, and good design”. Although the whole lecture was carried out through a livestream due to the pandemic, more than 100 participants joined in this event.

According to the topic of this lecture, Ms. Yu-Chin Chang explained the importance and meaning of circular economy by using petals of a flower falling back onto the ground becoming nutrients for the soil as a metaphor of creating a cycle or “Cradle to Cradle”. By holding on to the concept of C2C while continuing to innovate, economy, society, and environment can reach a balance. All students and teachers have learned a lot thanks to Ms. Chang’s lecture.

Special thanks to the Department of Chemical Engineering & Materials Science of Yuan Ze University for their assistance and the TPCA Foundation for their support in making the Campus Lecture: Circular Economy VI a huge success. We hope this event will not only create new sparks for the 2021 TISDC but also provide different aspects of thoughts and observations for the students and teachers who participated in this event.
