Special thanks to TPCA Environment Foundation’s support, which created a spark to the TISDC this year. Due to the foundation’s great support, TISDC had the chance to hold the lecture in the theme of ‘Environmental Sustainability’, providing different aspects of thoughts and observations in the field of design.

The first lecturer Gideon Loewy from Denmark (currently as the founder and CEO of Scandinavian Designers) led the audiences to rethink the important issue of ‘Environmental Sustainability’ and used the RAG design to differentiate design when having the discussion of ‘Sustainability.’ There will be a difference when thinking on the perspective of individuals or corporations of whether to decrease the environmental impact or to improve the positive influence.
Lastly, Mr. Loewy used the 17 goals in the SDGs as example to organize aspects in society, economy, society and governance, leading students to choose their specialty or interest in order to think and design.

Peter Morehead from the U.S.A (currently as the co-founder of Permaculture Institute) shared from individual living environment as a scope showed how he apply sustainability in design. He used ‘regenerative design’ as his core value to share how he used different design to reduce the consumption of resources, pollution and reusable design from small detail to bigger scope of community rebuild. We’ve seen the philosophy of Permaculture design from Peter Morehead which we should- take care of the earth, the people and share the spare one.

The Design Masters Lecture Series came to a wonderful end with these two outstanding lectures.

Thank you all for participating the 2020 Design Masters Lecture Series X Environmental Sustainability. We hope to see you very soon at our next Lecture Series in October.
