2016 Taiwan International Student Design Competition is Looking for Worldwide Promising DesignersImage

2016 Taiwan International Student Design Competition, the worldwide second largest international student design competition, is calling for submission on June, 1st!

Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) is organized and conducted by Youth Development Administration of Ministry of Education. TISDC has been held since 2008 and has entered its 9th year. TISDC is highly recognized as the objective principle of jury system via inviting international design scholars and well-known designers. According to the 2015 statistics from TISDC’s report, the participation of 2015 TISDC consisted of more than 50 worldwide nations and received 30,000 pieces of artwork. Furthermore, the total reward of TISDC is up to NT$4,600,000 (approximately US$150,000) in 2016 which the Grand Prix is NT$400,000 (approximately US$13,000) and free of registration fee. In response to the growing number of the entries, TISDC further cooperates with up to 15 acclaimed international design associations to authorize awards and provide a total of more than 50 awards which is sponsored by the honorable Sayling Wen Cultural and Educational Foundation. International and Domestic students enrolling in high schools or above are welcome to participate in TISDC.

Four categories of TISDC comprise Product Design, Visual Design, Digital Animation, and Brand Specified. In addition to sparking the students’ creative energies, artwork model is not required in Product Design category and Brand Specified category which TISDC accepts conceptual representation. Likewise, the Brand Specified category of this year is sponsored by iSee Taiwan Foundation. The foundation authorizes the design requirement and seeks artwork with potential production, with the aim of this requirement can guide the students to focus on the implementation of students’ creativity. As a result, the academic fields can closely bridge the gap with the design industries.

The theme of this year is OPEN. The artwork is to convey the concept of OPEN. OPEN is open-minded with feeling the everyday nuances. Having open perspectives is to look to the future with an all-inclusive attitude. 2016 Taiwan International Student Design Competition is calling for submission from June 1st, 2016 to July, 25th, 2016. Online Registration and Online Work Submission: From June 1st, 2016 to July, 25th, 2016 at Taipei time 24:00 (GMT + 8)
Qualification: Students who currently enroll at senior high schools or above (Based on the internet registration deadline, and the participant must be born after May 29, 1986, and be younger than 30 years of age. For females who have given birth before year of 30 may have 2 years extension per birth.).*Fresh graduates (graduate in June 2016) and new students (enroll school in September, 2016) are also eligible.
