2014 Taiwan International Student Design Competition Final Selection on October 16!!

The Final Selection of 2014 Taiwan International Student Design Competition was held on October 16^th, with 15 design experts from Taiwan and aboard participating as the jury for the evaluation. After a daylong discussion, the jurors have finally decided the winners of Grand Prix, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honorable Mention prizes from the 268 finalists. The winner lists will be announced and published on our website after the official notice from the Youth Development Administration.

Generally speaking, the jurors considered the nominated works high quality and international, some of them even focus on the social issues, which bring a lot of impact to the audiences. According to the executive, a total of 52 pieces of winning work were selected this year. It is estimated that over 2.8 million NTD dollars of prize money will be handed out. The awarding ceremony is scheduled to be held on December 22^nd, 2014. Along which there will also be an exhibition of the winning works.

During the jurors’ stay in Taiwan, TISDC specially organized a series of Design Masters’ Lectures, inviting all the international jurors to share their aspects and experiences in design. Through the lectures, the organizer hoped to stimulate international communication and bring in new design perspectives to Taiwan. The ten lectures held separately in Taipei New Horizon, National Library of Public Information and Cheng Shiu University have attracted more than 1000 people in total. Lecture subjects included how to nurture creativity, the relationship between designers and the society, and the combination of design and business. The feedback from the audience was excellent.
